Why This Exist

About Me — Becoming Her | Rooted & Rising

Little do we realize how the experiences of childhood quietly shape the women we become.
What we survive early on doesn't disappear—it settles into our bodies, our beliefs, and the choices we make long before we're aware it's guiding us.
I grew up learning survival before safety.
I experienced physical abuse as a child, which eventually led me to run-away, pass-through a children's shelter, and live in a group home at a young age.
There were moments when the path ahead could have gone very differently.
Had it not been for the love and grace of a few friends—and their parents—who saw me, protected me, and stepped in when I needed it most, my story could have ended very differently.

The Mask

“The Woman” Who Thought She Had It Together”

Marriage. Motherhood. Pursuing a Career.
I became skilled at pleasing, surviving, and staying strong.
Inside, I was tired. Disconnected. Questioning everything.

The Break

“My body spoke when my spirit could no longer stay quiet.”
One night I woke up unable to breathe.
An ER visit. Tests. Fear. A panic attack that changed everything.
The kids moved out, we relocated for a fresh start.
It wasn’t a quick fix. I spiraled.

The Promise

This is a space of gentleness, not urgency.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.

You are not here to be fixed — you are here to be honored.

Your story matters, even the parts you’re still afraid to look at.

You are allowed to choose yourself, one honest moment at a time.

Nothing here asks you to rush or become someone you’re not.

Only to remember that the story you’ve lived does not have to be the story you carry forward.

Awakening

My daughter suggested yoga—and at first, I didn’t know what I was stepping into.
What began as simple curiosity quickly turned into something deeper.
I didn’t want to just practice yoga; I felt called to understand it.
To learn its history, its roots, its purpose.
On my first yoga retreat in Costa Rica, something quietly shifted within me. I began to notice the signs—the soft confirmations that I was exactly where I needed to be.
It wasn’t loud or dramatic; it was gentle, steady, and reassuring.
Every sunrise, every breath on the mat, every unexpected conversation felt like a whisper from the universe saying, you’re safe, you’re supported, keep going.
There was a sense of surrender that came naturally. I didn’t need to rush or force clarity.
The answers arrived in stillness—in the warmth of the air, the rhythm of nature, the way everything unfolded with ease.
I felt guided, not pushed.
Held, not hurried.
That experience taught me to trust the pace of my journey.

If you’re here, something within you is already waking.

Not because you are broken —but because you are remembering.

Remembering your breath.

Remembering your worth.

Remembering the quiet voice that has always known the way.

There is nothing you need to fix.

Nothing you need to rush.

Nothing you need to become overnight.

Your unfolding is sacred.

Your timing is wise.

And every step — even the ones that felt like detours — has been leading you home.

May this space meet you gently.

May it remind you that choosing yourself is not selfish — it is a return to truth.

You are held.

You are guided.

You are exactly where you need to be.

With love,
